Network Marketing Recruiting: Dealing with Common Objections Part 3

Posted on 20 August 2011 by Chris

7. I do not know anyone.

You need to probe here.  You can also explain to them that there are other ways of building a business. They do not need to completely rely on their warm marketing (which they claim to not have).  After they join you, you can use a memory jogger to help them get started.  I am not joking when I say I just thought of this now but you could use the memory jogger to show them they do know many people as a way to create enough belief so they will join

8. Is this a pyramid?

No way, are you looking for a pyramid? If you are, I cannot help you.  I do not get involved in pyramids.

9. You have to be in early to make money.

No, you do not have to be at the top or in early.  Everyone starts at the same point.  Everyone starts below someone and you are at the top of your organization.  In fact, people below you can earn more than you.

10. I do not like selling.  I am not good at selling.

What is it about selling you do not like?  I do not like pushing people, well neither do I.  You can ask them have you sold anything before?  We are actually not in the selling business.  We are the sharing business.  We share something that we are excited about.

11.  I do not want to stock pile a bunch of product.  Well you do not have too; the company sends the products directly to the end user.  However, you should stock some to show others but not a lot.

12.  I do not know how to do it.

The good news is that we have a training system that teach you step by step how to do it.  If you are good at following instructions and a proven system, you can succeed.

13.  I do not like MLM.

Ask them, what is it you do not like? t.

14.  I did this before and lost a bunch of money.

Ask them about their experience…More times and not you will find out they did not work it hard.  So their failure is due to their lack of effort.

15.  Why do I have to pay you to work for you.

You are not paying me, you are pay for the distribution rights, start up product and tools .  This is not a job it is a business and for a business the start up cost is quite small.

More common objections to come.

Network Marketing Recruiting: Dealing with Common Objections Part 2

Let’s continue our discussion of network marketing recruiting: dealing with objections.

5. I do not have the time.  This is ironic one, because this is the exact reason why they should be interested in this type of business.  I ask them what is their plan to get more time freedom in their lives.  Another good question could be, well if you do not make the time to build a business, how do you think your situation will change.  Another idea could be to ask them what they mean when they say they do not have the time.  If they say, well I need to create a plan, tell them, this is that plan.  This is the plan to create time freedom in your life.

6. I do not have the money.  If someone says they do not have the money, they are usually saying they do not believe they can succeed.  Because the actually investment into even the most expensive MLM is quite cheap and the compensation plan is designed to help you reach ROI quickly.  The reality (and there are a few exceptions) is that people who believe in their ability will find a way to get the money.  A good example is cancelling the cable bill.   I love the cable bill; costing about $100 a month but actually cable TV (and TV in general) is costing people a lot more than what they pay.  Just think about the time people spend watching TV and what they could do with that time.  It is scary!  Now we are back to a person who does not want it bad enough to make the investment.  If there is a will there is a way.  They could sell something.  If the person is that broke, do you really want them to join you?

Let’s continue this money issue.  Be sure to ask them, when will they have the money.  Ask them if they had the money, are they ready to proceed.  You could ask them how it feels not to have the money (this may motivate them to move forward with their lives).

Now we come down to the same issue, how do you expect your situation to change if you do not change and do something different?  I mean take action…

A good idea is to get someone started on the training if they truly do not have the money but will have it soon.  That way they stay engaged.

Stay tuned for part 3.

Network Marketing Recruiting, Dealing with Common Objections

Posted on 17 August 2011 by Chris

Network marketing recruiting comes with very common objections and we can learn to deal with them. The better you are at handling these objections, the better MLM recruiter you will become.  Objections can be a good thing; it means that the prospect is serious thinking about it.

List of common objections.

  1. The prospect cuts you off at the very beginning of the conversation with something like, “what do you got”.  Usually this type of response will come from someone you do not know and from a lead list you bought.  The key is to be calm.  I say something like, “as you opted into my website to learn information about a network marketing business, this is about me determining if you are a person I want on my team or not”.  This response sets the tone that you are leading the conversation.  If this upsets the person, you should let them go. Do not waste your time; he/she is a bad lead.  This goes back to a previous article and video I wrote about not being emotionally attached to a result.  This is hard to do but if you can reach that point, your success will increase.
  2. One strange but surprisingly common objection will be a person who is says they are interested but when you ask them what their questions or concerns are, they say they do not have any.  With those people, I ask them how serious they are about changing their life.  Depending on the answer, if they are still on the fence, I let them go.  I will say something like “Bob, look I am not in the convincing game.  You say you are interested but have no questions. Here is my number, call me when you are ready to sign up or have questions”.  Now, I may follow up with them in a couple of days but I do not chase.
  3. I do not want to talk to my friends and family.  I just say, okay then don’t. We will teach you other methods.  I agree that talking with friends and family is the quickest way to success in this industry and hopefully, after the prospect joins, they will develop enough belief that they will want to talk to their friends and family, but there are other ways to develop a business.
  4. I do not want to do meetings.  I say, okay do not do meetings.   Meetings are powerful and when you are building in your local market, I suggest you use meetings as a tool; however, again meetings are not the only way.  There are plenty of people who have success in this business by building remotely using the phone and the internet.
